Canon schema vocabulary
extends schema.org/Thing
A Hostname is a fully-qualified domain name (FQDN) — a labelled node in the global Domain Name System, such as cloudflare.com or mail.example.org. On Whisper Internet Directory, each hostname is published at /host/{fqdn} as a schema.org Thing, carrying its DNS resolution chain, subdomain tree, WHOIS registration, email infrastructure, and threat-feed memberships — sourced from DNS, WHOIS, and threat-intelligence data in WhisperGraph.
This page is the canonical definition of the Hostname type in the Whisper Internet Directory vocabulary. Every /host entity page references it from its structured data via the additionalType field, extending the schema.org Thing base type so crawlers and LLMs can resolve the Canon-specific meaning of the entity.
