Canon schema vocabulary
extends schema.org/Organization
A WHOIS Organization is the registrant organization named in the WHOIS records of one or more domains — the contact entity, such as "cloudflare hostmaster" or "microsoft corporation", that a domain is registered by. On Whisper Internet Directory, each such organization is published at /org/{slug} as a schema.org Organization, carrying a sample of the hostnames registered to it via the REGISTERED_BY relationship — sourced from WHOIS data in WhisperGraph. This is distinct from an Autonomous System, which Canon also models as an Organization at /asn/{number}: a WHOIS Organization is a registration contact, not a routing operator.
This page is the canonical definition of the WHOIS Organization type in the Whisper Internet Directory vocabulary. Every /org entity page references it from its structured data via the additionalType field, extending the schema.org Organization base type so crawlers and LLMs can resolve the Canon-specific meaning of the entity.
